Thank you for taking the time to look through my portfolio. My name is Krista Breure and I graduated cum laude from Eastern
University, in May 2007, with a BA in Elementary Education. During my last semester I student taught a fourth grade class
at Oaks Elementary School in the Springford School District of Collegeville, PA. During my experience at Oaks, I was given
the opportunity to work in a classroom with twenty two students of mixed abilities. My class included a number of gifted children,
as well was as two learning support children with documented IEPs. During my time at Oaks Elementary I prepared and taught
several units in all subjects based on the provided curriculum. I also taught several units using the hands on Everyday Math
curriculum. For my education classes at Eastern I prepared complete units in literature, science and social studies.
Student teaching was an amazing experience that allowed me to learn how to effectively manage my own classroom and teach to
every ability, as well as work together as a team with other teachers. I learned hands on how important it is that every child
is given the chance to succeed to the best of their ability and have been given the opportunity to help foster that learning.
Not only am I allowing students to explore the world of education by teaching them, but I am allowing them to search inside
themselves and discover a passion for learning that many did not know existed.
Thank you again for taking the time to view my portfolio. Included you will find my resume and references as well as
letters of recommendations and the necessary clearances and test scores required. I have also included examples of unit plans
I created while in college and lesson plans that I have taught during my student teaching experience. I choose some of the
projects that my students have completed and included instruction sheets and rubrics, as well as pictures of the completed
projects.
Please contact me if you have any further questions or would like any other information. I look forward to entering the
rewarding field of education!
